CPMR

The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions was created in 1973 CPMR, and during the past twenty-five years, has become a powerful voice for the interests of maritime regions in Europe. Its membership comprises peripheral maritime regions from Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Finland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Denmark, Greece, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Lettonia, Lituania, Roumania and Cyprus.

It was decided to establish geographical Commissions in order to meet different needs and interests in the various geographical areas covered by the CPMR. The first Commission to be established was the Islands Commission in 1980 followed by the Mediterranean Commission, the Atlantic Arc Commission and the North Sea Commission which were established in 1989.
