At the CPMR General Assembly in Bayonne it was decided that BSC’s Region Skåne shall head the working group on Social Inclusion under the umbrella of the Inter-Commission Employment and Training working group.

During 2009 the following activities took place:

* Questionnaire on the situation concerning social inclusion of immigrants in the regions and the role of ESF in these issues.

* Meeting in Brussels on the ESF.

* Meeting hosted by Emilia Romagna in its Brussels office, on regional policies for the inclusion of immigrants in a couple of member regions.

At the CPMR General Assembly in Gothenburg, September 2009 it was decided to separate the two working groups into independent groups.

The Chairman of the working group on social inclusion made an intervention at the GA together with the chairman of the Employment and Training working group regarding the importance of the work for social integration.

Planned activities – three seminars/conferences - were cancelled due to poor participation, probably for financial reasons. The future of the work groups is currently discussed.
