CPMR BSC Maritime Issues Working Group Meeting 30 November 2011
Please find enclosed the Draft Agenda and the Working Papers of the next meeting of the BSC working group on maritime issues, which will take place in Helsinki on 30 November 2011. This meeting will focus on the three following issues:
- Maritime Spatial Planning and Integrated Coastal Zone Management. Having a debate on MSP and ICZM in September will be especially relevant, as the European Commission will make propositions for new action on MSP and ICZM at the end of 2011/beginning of 2012.
- Maritime safety, as a seminar on this issue will be organised by the CPMR (including the BSC) in partnership with the Baltic Master II project. The seminar will take place on the 1st of December in the European Parliament.
- Blue growth and naval industry, in line with the initiatives launched by the European Commission and possible new CPMR (including BSC) initiatives.
All BSC Regions are very welcome to take an active part in this meeting, and we would in particular welcome presentations from BSC Member Regions on MSP and ICZM, focusing on both political and technical issues (should there be EU Directives on MSP or ICZM for instance, and how do the BSC Regions contribute to MSP and ICZM).
We shall begin at 10.00 am and end till 15.15 in the afternoon. The venue will be the Uusimaa Regional Council, address: Esterinportti 2 B, 4th Floor, 00240 HELSINKI, Finland.
Please tell us who from your organisation will be coming to our meeting in Helsinki not later than 23 November 2011 to Ms. Anu Lampi. Also indicate if you have a special diet (food allergy).

Please find enclosed the Draft Agenda of the next meeting of the BSC working group on maritime issues, which will take place in Helsinki on 14 September 2011. This meeting will focus on the three following issues:

• Action foreseen within the BSC working group on maritime issues, including the preparation of a document for the next BSC General Assembly are already, and will continue to be, coordinated with action implemented at the level of the CPMR;
• Action need to be focused in order to match the capacity of involvement and specific needs of the Regions of the Baltic Sea Area, as the maritime field covers a broad range of issues;
