Background:
The Transport Working Group of CPMR-BSC has been following EU Transport Policy for some years. Among the most interesting current topics is the revision of the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T). The work of six expert groups convened by the Directorate-General for Mobility & Transport (DG TRAN) has been concluded officially. The TEN-T Days in Zaragoza 08/09 June (https://www.ten-t-days-2010-zaragoza.eu/) will kick off the open debate about the methodology proposed for the TEN-T revision. In parallel, DG TRAN will put forward a new White Paper on Transport. Together, both processes will shape European Transport Policies for the next decade.
For the moment, three consultations are open which may be interesting for Baltic Sea stake- holders. More information can be found at: http://ec.europa.eu/transport/consultations/index_en.htm
04/05/2010 - 15/09/2010: Consultation on the Future Trans-European Transport Network

About the workshop:
Main topic will be the TEN-T revision process. Participants will have the chance to discuss an input to the forthcoming meeting of the CPMR TEN-T working group on 07 June in Zaragoza.
It is highly recommended to get familiar with the following papers: * Commission Working Document: Consultation on the Future Trans-European Transport Network
* Commission Staff Working Document "TEN-T Policy Review - background papers"
* Final reports and recommendations by the six expert groups, most notably
group 1 (Methodology for TEN-T planning) and
group 2 (Integration of transport policy into TEN-T planning)
Besides the TEN-T revision, the two other consultations will be discussed briefly. Further issues may be communicated at short notice.
